A SPEECH FROM THE VICE PRINCIPAL DESK

The journey of a thousand years begins with a step and few drops of water makes a might ocean. These parlances is related to how grown in numbers and achievements BGB Secondary School has been since its establishment in the 2006, about Twelve years ago. Lots of water had passed under the bridge, yet the school continues to wax stronger. The school’s academic exploits and stable calendar in spite of our numerous challenges are pointers to the level of mighty dedication and determination of all and sundry in the school.

There is no gain-saying that our programmes, policies, rules and regulations are in tandem with the vision and mission statements of the school which are anchored on the philosophy of raising children in the fear of God and academic excellence. Our success has been predicated on hard work, an efficient administrative frame-work and leadership style. Hence, the teaching and non-teaching staff have been working assiduously and harmoniously over the years to achieve the school’s vision. Our students have been excelling monumentally in external examinations conducted by examination bodies such as Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council. Others include the COWBELL mathematics competition and other international examination. The school has also produced graduates from renowned tertiary institution within and outside the country in different fields of their endeavours nurture by BGB.

The success story of BGB is a continuous project which makes us demands for more just like Oliver Twist. This attribute has always made the school to be in demand by pupils and students alike. Thus, to present and aspiring students of BGB group of schools, note that tough time never last but tough people do. Working hard and smart is never an assignment that cannot be left aside. Hard work is an antidote for suffering therefore, as a student, you need to work hard.

In order to achieve greatness, you need no one to help you achieve success as student. Your readiness to work is the only guarantee for your greatness. You may be from a wealthy family that does not guarantee your success. Devote time to study in an aggressive manner. Depend not on malpractice as it ruins your academic future. Commit all effort into the hand of God and you will fulfil destiny.

To our parents you are commended for your investment on your children even in the face of the current economic recession. Your role in advising your children in relation to their academics and monitoring them to eschew unwholesome vices which could be detrimental to their success in life is highly appreciated. We live in a society which is infested with a gargantuan degree of moral decadence and indulgence in a litany of nefarious acts. Such as alcoholism, sexual immorality, cultism, drug abuse, theft, disobedience to parents and constituted authority which has increase in recent times.

In conclusion, this magazine, the first of its kind is packaged with articles of educational and motivational words that makes one glued to it. It also shows events of the schools as well as internal structure of the school without even getting to the school (why will you not want to visit or school). We hope you become our perpetual reader.

LONG LIVE BGB!
